Extended cell ?

Request to help me to get some docs on "Extended cell".

what are the features of it? ie advantage/Dis-advantage

and how it can be implemnted on seimens network.

Hi,

One of the main disadvantage is that when you use this feature you will sacrifice cell capacity meaning that for every call beyond the normal cell coverage range the cell uses 2 timeslots instead of 1 to hold the call before of the distance is longer from cell and also timing advance is much more.

I think that would be the main disadvantage is you reduce cell capacity...

For the technical description for extended cell is the same for any vendor just there will be some change in Radio parameter unfortunately i donot have for Siemens now but you can check the below link on this forum .
