Default Any opinions on Indoor planning tools ? iBwave vs Ranplan Vs Winprop or others....

Looking at the different indoor planning tools available-

Is iBwave still the best choice? are the ray tracing models really suitable for 5G ?
Certifications look to be quite comprehensive, but are they actually useful ?

Is Ranplan a better alternative ? the component library and trainings seem limited....but to be expected from a newer tool ?
Winprop looks interesting but seems to be very niche ?
Are there other tools that should be considered for indoor planning ?

Can anybody share their experiences with usability/cost/support ?

Atoll has an IBS module which looks quite developed from the training videos I have seen previously. From version 3.4.1 I think....

Infovista Planet is definitely a significant player in the indoor planning space. Here's what you need to consider about it:
    Infovista Planet's Strengths

    • Comprehensive Planning Tool: Planet covers a wider range of radio planning functions. It's suitable for indoor and outdoor network planning across various technologies, including 5G.
    • Scalability: Planet is known for handling large-scale projects, a potential advantage if you're dealing with extensive indoor environments or multiple buildings.
    • Integration with iBwave: Planet's ability to integrate with iBwave is a huge benefit. This lets you leverage iBwave's precise indoor modeling and combine it with Planet's broader planning capabilities.
    • Automation Features: Planet offers automation tools that can speed up routine tasks and optimize workflows, improving efficiency in the planning process.

Where to Place Planet in Your Evaluation:
I'd suggest evaluating Infovista Planet alongside iBwave and Ranplan as your primary contenders. Here's why:

    • 5G Focus: Planet's strong 5G support and automation tools make it particularly appealing for 5G indoor planning.
    • Established Reputation: Infovista has a well-established reputation in the network planning industry, similar to iBwave.
    • Complexity: Planet might initially have a slightly steeper learning curve than Ranplan, due to its extensive features.

    Recommendation:
If possible, try to get hands-on experience with Infovista Planet, iBwave, and Ranplan through demos or trials. This will give you the best sense of which tool aligns with the following for your specific needs:

    • Your team's existing expertise
    • Project complexity
    • Your specific 5G deployment priorities
