I am wondering what solution has someone made for the comfortable long hours drive testing and having laptop in front of engineer.

No tables required, just a mobile rack like below one:
Engineer sits next to driver and put it in front of him and enjoy monitoring the 6 ~ 8 mobiles in the same moment,
they have fans and can be connected to power supply

Hi!
Real experience in operating Test Drive equipment (batteries, voltage converter, laptops, test phones, GPS antenna).
A car was purchased - a van, with factory design changes:
a stainless steel protective shield near the tailgate and a folding table near the seats in the cabin.

The terms of reference for the design change were unsuccessful. Batteries closed the hatch with a spare wheel.
(additional batteries with a capacity of 100 Ah for the converter 12 - 220 volts nearby).
There was no fastening for fixing the batteries (as a result, the batteries moved around the cabin while driving).
The laptop table, test phones, as well as all the installed items on it vibrated during movement.
These problems were not the most important.
During the period of operation, the hard drive of the laptop failed a couple of times.
The laptop's USB ports were destroyed due to the constant removal and installation of USB cables to test phones.
Cases and connectors of test phones were damaged due to falls from the table.
The 12-220 volt converter for powering laptops failed.
The GPS antenna was installed on the roof of the car and went out of service due to factory defects and damage to the antenna cable and connector.
The car did not have four-wheel drive and there was a restriction on its use off-road with good coverage.
It was a very bad decision.
Based on the foregoing, it is necessary to draw up the correct terms of reference, which provides for the following:
1. use the type of transport.
2. use and placement of test drive equipment in the car.
3. using power supply for TD equipment.
You can probably add some more requirements, for example, vibration absorption devices, etc.
Important: create a 3D model of all devices in the car. This is design work.
It is not realistic to send photos of unsuccessful decisions.
