    Default MTP3550 & MTM5400 NOT SWITCHING ON

    HI everyone,

    I have a MTP3550 and a MTM5400 that are not switching on.

I have checked the fuses on the MTM and seems to be working and when supply is connected and power on button is pressed, the on board LED flashes green then red but, the radio does not power up.
when connected to CPS it is not detected even when trying to put it in programming mode.

Similar to the MTP it does not turn on, but when connected onto the charger, the front LED luminate red as well as when connecting the programming cable it glows red but is not detected to the cps.

for both radios because the LEDs turns on, that makes me to rule out the supply circuit problem. but, leaves me with the question what might be wrong.

extra info: the radios are not stunned/disabled from the RCM of the system.

Did you provided IS to the ACC (rear) connector? 3rd wire, but not the main power cord.

Yes I have connected the IS, the LED (D402) on the board keeps flashing but the radio does not turn on.

Another info; radio was working before it went to this current status of not wanting to switch on.

Hey! I had a problem like this on an mtp 3200. And the radio was permanently disabled by the tetra network signal, and it wouldn't turn on. But I managed to resuscitate it with cps depot.

Thanks, I think i did some some threads on net suggesting a cps depot. The depot is different from the normal CPS? I will look for it.

Yea! It has dead radio recovery tools. Good luck!

Hi again, I have managed to get the depot CPS, connected programming cable to the radios. would you kindly walk me through the steps or process of this recovery because i noticed that the radios are still not detected by the CPS, meaning I cannot read them since they are not switching on. Also, I only have USB programming cables not RS232.

what do i need before starting this recovery process?
    thanks again for your response.

First, recovery is done via RS-232 cable...
