Default LTE Cat-M effect on legacy LTE

    Hello seniors

could someone share effect on throughput utilization after enabling Cat-M services? I remeber our trainer said when you enable Cat-M there are some exclusive channels introduced to serve Cat-M services.

I left that role since and never checked the actual effect. do you guys have something related to this question?

    thanks in Adv

    Hi,

It depends if there is cat-M traffic on the Narrowband (6 PRB) itself or not.
If there is no cat-M users then there will around 3% throughput reduction (per Narrowband / 6 PRB assigned to cat-M), in LTE network with 10 MHz bandwidth
If there is traffic then it will be between 3% - 12% (if Narrowband is completely occupied by Cat-M traffic then 12% throughput reduction --> 6 / 50)
