LTE Uplink coverage and data consumption correlation

Can I find some research , case study or statistical data about correlation between uplink coverage , battery drain and data consumption ?
For me its safe to say that bad uplink coverage causes more battery usage, more battery usage forces users to spend less time on using smartphone (surfing web, "scrolling" social media and streaming audio/video )
