Do you have any idea, how to get relation between Voice Traffic in Erlang & Data Traffic in Mega byte?
Below is chart from one study show the percentage of Voice Traffic to Data Traffic, so there must be a way to correlate them to each other
i dont know how exectly, but if we talk about 2G for example, or 3G, we can calculate resources of BSC/RNC, that used for CS and PS traffic, so we can get percentage of using PS and CS on the BSC layer.
if we talk about BTS layer, we can take percentage from busy TCH trxs and PDCH trxs, also this can be useful for 3G, where we can calculate CA and PS credit usage per NodeB
Erlang is the Traffic Intensity (T). For an individual call it is defined as the (av.holding time per call in seconds)x no of calls per hour/3600.
If he have M customers, then total traffic will be T x M.
For data, the Traffic Intensity (T) can be computed as the data used by consumer per hour/(data speed of the channel)x 3600.
If he have M customers, then total traffic will be T x M.
The traffic for an individual consumer cannot exceed 1E.
Traffic (volume) = Traffic (Erlang) * 3600 * Bearer BR * AF
Bearer BR = Channel Bit Rate
AF = Activity Factor
For voice services most vendors recommend to use 0.6
For data services most vendors recommend to use 1
