    Default Cross polarized antenna modeling in Atoll

    Dear experts
    Do we have to use radiation pattern of P45 or M45 when we model a new antenna in Atoll ?
    P45 means positive polarization (+45) and M45 means Minus polarization (-45 ) , now which pattern is the right one to use if the antenna Polarization is ±45°?

    Then if I used P45 or M45 when creating new antenna , what is the impact on the accuracy of the signal prediction ?

    please help .

    i am using P45. As i know Atoll does itself +- polarization calculation.

    The signal attenuation in space in the case of signal emission at an angle of +45 and -45 is the same. For calculations you need to use any of the P45 or M45 patterns.

    Its not about attenuation. Its about MIMO configuration.

    Thank you boss , my question is general and independent of the technology . I need to use different antenna radiation patterns with LTE and sometimes with CDMA . MIMO is considered during LTE coverage prediction , but in CDMA just receiving diversity .

    If you check the gain and vertical beam width for +45 and -45 with the same electrical tilt radiation pattern , there is a slight difference .

    The attenuation is different a little bit . e.g Huawei ADU4518R7 , 882Mhz , 0 electrical tilt , both patterns for m45 and p45 are listed below:

    It is impossible to manufacture an antenna, I will develop in a large range of frequencies with ideal characteristics.
    Antenna parameters:
    Frequency range (MHz)
    690 - 960 1710 - 2690
    690 - 803 790 - 862 824 - 894 880 - 960 1710 - 1990 1920 - 2200 2200 - 2490 2490 - 2690.

    You need to look at the beam patterns for polarization + 45 and -45, for 882Mhz frequency:

    M45.jpg - M45
    P45.jpg - P45

    From the analysis of the diagram, it can be seen that the beam of the beam pattern is M45 in the vertical plane (beam width 9 degrees), has a factory preliminary setting -1 degrees. Although М45 data is specified for ADU4518R7_0882_X_CO_M45_00T_r, i.e. 0 degrees.
    So there 's a difference in attenuation for: ADU4518R7_0882_X_CO_M45_00T_r and ADU4518R7_0882_X_CO_P45_00T_r, which you reflected in the comparison table.
