Recover a bricked MTH800
hi!
i already posted to a similar thread some years ago, where i even helped a user to unbrick his radio, since i was able to unbrick one of my radios.
now i have bricked one of my radios again, however, i can't get it into flash mode with my rs232 cable. i confirmed, that the cable works by connecting it to a working radio in normal operation mode and using scout to see, if data comes through.
here's what i tried, that didn't work:
bricked radio + rs232 cable + real serial port
bricked radio + rs232 cable + usb-serial adapter
working radio + rs232 cable + real serial
working radio + rs232 cable + usb-serial
all of them with and without a charger connected to the rs232 cable
i even used the exact same setup as some years ago (same old laptop, same usb-serial adapter, same rs232 cable, same radio, same cps+ 6.2 depot), but the cps won't even detect the working radio with the rs232 cable.
and yes, i tried it with pressing 1+9+power and without pressing those buttons.
what step am i missing, that did the trick last time? ;D

Re: Recover a bricked MTH800
it's actually a NKN6544B, which is used to program iDEN radios. but as i said, it worked perfectly last time
edit: i just found out, that it has the same pinout as a PMKN4025, so it might just have been luck at my first try.
thx, -bup-, i will get the correct cable ;D
