Those passwords are indeed, as you understood, the base64-encoding of a symmetric-crypto-operation's result.
Usually, bytes resulting from crypto are not "readable" (if you know what I mean), so they're usually encoded,
base64 being a common way.

Developers did a so-called silent update (changed executable without changing version number),
actually modifying the way keys and passwords are generated; probably they're watching this thread.
So, attached (it's actually only the link) you find the "first" 1.5.0 version.
By the way, if you're wondering ... I didn't alter it in any way
