LTE Layering Strategy
Hi Guys,
Would like to ask if anyone has LTE layering strategy in your network? any Multi-band and multi-frequency strategy?
Also, how to imrove IFHO?

Hi,
Do you have a degradation on Inter-freq ? Please share kpi trend

Re: LTE Layering Strategy
This is due to newly on-aired sites on L700 band. Existing LTE sites were L2100.
Of course, most L700 were definitely overshooting. And we can't avoid that since these sites were few.

Re: LTE Layering Strategy
As long as your KPI are stable and load quite balance (your throughput perspective) then everything is fine.
what is your IFHO event based? A3 or A4, you can try to change the threshold.

Yes I've tried that already so that new site L700 trigger early interfreq events. Nway, default value for A3 is 6.
And I change it up to 24 already.

Re: LTE Layering Strategy
Can you share the below parameteres used for L700 and L2100 ?
a3Offset |
a3ReportInterval |
a3TimeToTrigger |
hysThreshold3 |
threshold3 |
threshold3a |
threshold3InterFreq |
threshold3aInterFreq |
a3OffsetRsrpInterFreq

thanks to share also RSLTE031 report for one cell.

Re: LTE Layering Strategy
Well, the strategy depends on your.. strategy!
For example, you can restrict "disable" A3 handover (max value) and use only A5 to cell edge mobility, this will minimize your connected mode mobility, allowing only idle mode mobility instead. For idle, L2100 with higher priority will push traffic to it when it is available. How much traffic? Then you will need to tweak the threshSrvLow, threshXHigh/Low.
It all depends on what you want, but, if you are trying to solve overshooters by tweaking parameters, I guarantee that you will have a bad time

Re: LTE Layering Strategy
Yeah you're right, i've tried tweaking parameters and some sites shows improvement, some were not.
So it can't be use as network-wide baseline since sites have been scattered.
