Extended GSM support
Dear E// Experts,
Please could you tell me the possibility of deploying EGSM with P-GSM hardware configuration.
We have BTS&BSC with support for 900/1800MHZ, so will it require a hardware adjustment or just software?
Thanks and hope to hear from all of you.

Re: Extended GSM support
This depends of HW equipment only! What is your vendor and equipment generation?

Thanks tremalnike,
Our vendor solution is working on GSM-900 band 890.0 – 915.0 || 935.0 – 960.0 .
but we need to work on E-GSM 880.0 – 915.0||925.0 – 960.
he said it will require to change the hardware and buy new equipment but we are not convinced about that because it's 10MHZ shift.
In general, is there is a hardware difference between them?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Extended GSM support
yes, there are difference between GSM900 and EGSM, but some vendors support both of them in same BTS (RRU), please specify the vendor and BTS model.

Your hardware have very clearly specs. It cant work on E-GSM frequency. For sure you need buy new RRU.

We can operate in the E-GSM (850-900) frequency which inclueded .
So why it's not a software issue?

Re: Extended GSM support
Hi,
don't confuse GSM850 band with EGSM. EGSM is extension of the GSM900 band. So your secret vendor (V*N_L) my not support EGSM ![:)](http://www.finetopix.net/images/smilies/smile.png)
The specifications above donesn't contain info about EGSM.

RRU' operating frequency is filtered by dupplexer. It's hardware component. You cant change its specs by software.
