feature requirement for dual DUW operation
Dear experts,
Can anyone give me the idea about additional feature requirement specifically for addition of 2nd DUW? We are planning to add additional DUW in some NodeBs due to capacity constraint. We need to know what are the new features i might need for this activity.
RNC/RBS SW Version: W13
Vendor: E*******
DUW version: DUW30
RBS 6301
Thanks in advance.

Re: feature requirement for dual DUW operation
never mind...we already figured it out...
EUL for large RBS configuration (FAJ 121 1518) [if number of carrier is 3 or more]
HSDPA MC Inter DU Joint Scheduling (FAJ 121 2709)
cheers.

Osman, can you share the description of that feature?

Do you have info if EUL for Large RBS config license is still needed if DUW41 was used instead of doing DUW30 Cascade

Re: feature requirement for dual DUW operation
Dear uchok
Please find below-
EUL for large RBS configuration (FAJ 121 1518):
This feature introduces the capability of using EUL in two base band pools. The capability depends on the installed RBS HW.The EUL supported dual base band pool configurations based on DUW/RUW (RBS 6000) are:
• 3x3
• 3x4
• 6x2
• 3x2+3x2 (dual band)
HSDPA MC Inter DU Joint Scheduling (FAJ 121 2709):
The HSDPA MC Inter DU Joint Scheduling feature introduces extended Joint Scheduling capabilities of the High Speed (HS) scheduler. Without this feature, Joint Scheduling between two carriers for a Multi Carrier (MC) user is restricted to a single HS processing resource. With this feature, different HS Schedulers located on different HS processing resources can interact to schedule MC users jointly, both when the HS processing resources are located on the same Digital Unit (DU) and on different DUs. This allows that MC support can be enabled across cells that are handled by different HS processing resources. The feature is applicable for DUWv1(DUW10,20,30), DUWv2(DUW11,31,41) and in RBS configurations involving combinations of DUWv1 and DUWv2.

Re: feature requirement for dual DUW operation
dear juanpico
If there is only one baseband pool, you don't need large RBS config license. But lets say you want to go for more than 6 cell carriers in one NodeB, or for other reason(CE capacity expansion), if you need additional DUW, you have to use this feature for using EUL in both baseband pool.
please correct me if i am wrong.
thank you.
