change Huawei rack type
Hi experts,
How can i change the Rack type of an existing site in Huawei 3G?
Rack type is 3800 and i want to keep all parameters including external alarm config and simply change it to 3900 cabinet.
Can it be done in Planned area? Normally if i wan to change for example WMPT to UMPT i just create planned area and on control panel change board and generate field tech script.
But can i create the sam with a Rack type and keep all parameters?
Please help.

Re: change Huawei rack type
Hi,
We did something similare once. The BTS type in the configuration file of the site was not correct, then once integrated to U2000 the BTS was visible on the topology but not recognized by U2000 (missing mediation). What we did to solve the issue is we have uploaded and edited the configuration file of BTS (NodeBCFG.xml) and replaced the type of Product in the XML file. Then downloaded the configuration file again then activated it. After reset, the BTS was properly recognized by U2000.
What is the current softawre version (or at least release) the bts is running on? (also can you please inform about the cabinet type)?

Re: change Huawei rack type
Thanks for your reply mouley,
After many different attempts the way i got it to work was,
Extract the config out of planned area i created.( New one which includes this site)
Then modified the file and re uploaded it to planned area.
Then extracted the CFG file and sent it to field tech to re load.
Then all came good.

Re: change Huawei rack type
Good job
. Even better with CME cause it may run some consistency checks on your new ConfigFile.
