Slow LTE UL/DL speed on windows 7
Hi all,
Currently we're testing several LTE sites/cells.
If we use a Virtual Machine (VMWare 10) the throughput islimited to:
- DL: ~12Mbps
- UL: ~6Mbps
If we connect the datacard in the host machine and establish a direct connection between machines (Host and Guest), we achieved troughputs:
- DL: >60Mbps
- UL: >40Mbps
Same RF conditions
Host Computer has a Windows 8 Pro
Guest Machine has a Windows 7 x86
Does anyone has a clue why does this happens?
We also tried to do a clean install of Windows 7 x86 on another machine and the performance is still below we would like.
- DL: >30Mbps
- UL: ~6Mbps
Does anyone has a clue why the UL is limited on Windows 7?
If we change the protocol from tcp to udp the UL throughput increases to 20Mpbs, but thats not the scope of work.
We're using Huawei E392u-12 datacard.
Thanks for the help,

I would suggest, if you can use Ubuntu instead of Windows. Windows has many factors which limit the throughput and also shows connectivity issue.
In Linux, you can connect multiple dongles in single machine and can achieve maximum throughput.
Hope this help.

Re: Slow LTE UL/DL speed on windows 7
Hi all,
Turning off the firewalls and antivirus doesn't work, we still get the UL limit.
This issue happens to Windows 7 64bit also.
I cannot shift to Linux because we need to use Tems Investigation to log.
Currently only Win8 doesn't have this issue. Any further ideas?
Thanks,

Have you tried the filezilla? And downloading 10 files and 10 files uploading is it a functionality? Have you tried cleaning program like cc cleaner

Re: Slow LTE UL/DL speed on windows 7
Hi,
From our experience even with a Windows clean install the throughput were limited.
We tried to use TCP optimizer to improve UL/DL Throuputs and nothing!
After installing Vodafone's software we noticed an improvement of speed but not as we would expect. After inserting the Vodafone's K5150 pen into the laptop we notice the real change. I beleive that the datacard/pen drivers may have changed Windows default drivers and hence we were able to achieve LTE true capability.
Needless to say that we always use HUA E392 datacard for our tests. TI is able to read E392 Qualcomm's chipset and K5150 has an Hisense chipset that needs to have the engineering mode unlocked which no solution is yet available.
Regards,
