Ascom Network Testing announced today the launch of the next generation TEMS™ Portfolio test handset, including the cellular control capabilities unique to TEMS™ solutions.
TEMS™ test handsets provide a range of capabilities, tailored to address some of the key challenges faced by today’s wireless network deployments. TEMS™ unique cellular control capabilities eliminate the unpredictability and inefficiency that is common in other test handset solutions using commercial handsets. This ensures test cases are able to accurately, consistently, and efficiently simulate subscriber behavior, saving users of TEMS™ solutions countless’ engineering hours in the deployment of 2G/3G/4G networks over the past decade.
The next generation handset is based on the latest premium smartphone from Sony, the Xperia Z2, and the popular Qualcomm MSM8974 chipset. Capabilities offered include unrivaled GSM cell forcing capabilities, voice codec control, real-time LTE PCI and EARFCN locking capabilities and more.The handset is compatible with most of the world’s 2G/3G/4G frequency bands, is dust and water protected, and builds on the trusted performance of existing TEMS™ testing handsets based on Sony devices.
