Default temporary solution for CE congestion. E///

    immidiate response required.

    dear all

we are facing huge CE congestion. cant increase CE at the moment due to budget issue.

pl suggest some action to reduce lackULHW (ce congestion counter).

i tried reducing maxNumHsPdschCodes to 5 frmo 15 to reduce HS traffic so i can give space to more no of user. but it didnt help in any way.

now i am going to target inactivity timer. suggest if it is right

    Hi,

As you said,Inactivity Timer is one. Another is Handover by Service, that is, 3G to 2G Voice, so as data only will occupy at your 3G problematic sites.

    Hi friend ,

Please specify from which direction u have CE shortage (I think severe shortage in Up link channel element right ? ) u have several option:

    1. Increase Ulhwadm for Iubs to 100
    2. Decrease number of EUL 2ms users
    3. decrease sf4adm and sf8Adm to lower value

    BR///?

    Hi,

You can try reducing the R99 max bit rates in UL setting it to 16kbps

set Sf4admul to 0. see if tuning of channel switching parameters to keep UE in Cell FACH state maximum is possible.
2nd, Downtilt and reducing CPICH Power is also viable option by sharing traffic with less congested neighboring cells as temporary solution.

i did this on friday 28 june.

    hsdschInactivityTimer to 2s from 5s

    downswitchTimer to 10(1s) from 50(5s)

outcome:- lackulhw cut by almost 50%.

next action:-sf4adm is already 0 and sf8adm is already low(8).

would changing the buffer size can help .??
