    Default MAIO Concept

    Dear Experts,

I 've a question related to MAIO, suppose if a cell contains
    4 TRX (1 BCCH & 3 TCH) with
    Freq B1,T1,T2,T3
    Baseband hopping
    MAIO CHGR0 - default
    MAIO CHGR1 - 5,4,0

what will happen as there is no 4th or 5th TCH TRX???
Will 2nd & 3rd TCH TRX takes traffic or not??
Will it lead to TCH congestion or TCH drop?

    Pls explain in detail...

    Default Re: MAIO Concept

    Hi!
Probably BCCH is the only ode using EDGE? Otherwise, BB hop can use all 4 frequencies,
with TS0 only three + BCCH.

MAIO: Mobile Allocation Index Offset add some offset Mobile Allocation List (T1, T2, T3).
Actual frequency is based on frame number and HSN as well.
On the end, it is modulo length(MA List) used.
    so:

    MA List: T1 T2 T3
    MAIO: 5 4 0
    MAIO mod3: 2 1 0

Anyhow, if you add one TRX, then MAIO=0 and MAIO=4 will both point to same sequence, and you will have
    problems.
