Path Loss Formula
Downlink transmission pass loss = BTS Cabinet Top Power – BTS feeder loss + BTS antenna gain + MS antenna gain – MS feeder loss – MS sensitivity – body loss – power margin
Uplink transmission pass loss = MS power – MS feeder loss + MS antenna gain – body loss + BTS antenna gain + diversity gain + TMA gain – BTS feeder loss – BTS sensitivity – power margin
When the uplink and downlink is balanced, the uplink transmission pass loss should be the same as downlink transmission pass loss. It means when the uplink level reach the coverage border, the downlink level also reach the coverage border.
Downlink receiving level – Uplink receiving level = BTS Cabinet Top Power – MS power
BTS Cabinet Top Power = TRX output power – The combining loss
So:
Downlink receiving level – Uplink receiving level = TRX output power – The combining loss – MS power
The TRX output power is 47.8dBm (60W)
MS power is 33dBm (GSM and MS_TXPWR_MAX_CCH is 5)
MS power is 30dBm (DCS and MS_TXPWR_MAX_CCH is 0)
