Default licenseCapacityNum40WPowerAmplifiers Check in the RBS

    Hi,

The licenseCapacityNum40WPowerAmplifiers is available in the RBS but when i checked the maxDlPowerCapability the value is 430. I'am expecting that the value should be 450-460 since the power amplifier is 40 watts. The attenuation in the antenna system is set to zero and all utrancell level parameters in the RNC are in accordance to 40 watts.

Is there any RBS parameter or any means of double checking that the RBS should emit 40 watts?

    Thanks,
    Sen

maxDlPowerCapability shows max output per utrancell in dBm (unit for maxDlPowerCapability is 0.1 dBm). Is the second carrier defined in your RBS? If it is so, then all's right: 43 dBm = 20 W. 20W (used for 1st carrier) + 20W (used for 2nd carrier) = 40W.

    Hi Senjamir,

What is your maxTotalOutputPower ??? is it correct? it should be 40W as well.

    Hi,

The parameter is set to -1 making the RBS choose the output power to be the highest possible value that the hardware can support.

No it will force it to use 20W, so rectify it and your maxDlPowerCapability issue will be solved.
    2.6.2 WCDMA

ALEX : UD Reference : Mixed Mode in Multistandard RBS
The power configuration for WCDMA is done with the parameter maxTotalOutputPower in the MO TpaDevice. The parameter
defines the maximum total output power of the Transmit Power Amplifier (TPA) device, allowed
to configure for TPA devices on the RU. When set to the undefined value, the
output power is set to 20 W.
