Default How to setting GPRS only at Huawei BTS3900

    dear all expert,

is there any explanation on how to set GPRS only at BTS 3900.
i have a indoor BTS with s4/4/4 and 2 E1s abis. currently 2G data has high multislot block. so i want to expand it's TRX to 6/4/4.
the problem is i can't to expand the Abis from 2 E1 to 3 E1s.

    Dear

You question is not clear but i try to give according .

1- To activate GPRS just you need to activated on cell and on TRX level level you need to play with PDCH channel priority to be GPRS.
2- for Abis i see it it quite enough with 2 E1 so it mean you have 248 Idle TS(16kbps)

    you have 6/4/4 so

for 6 TRX it mean you have 1 BCCH+3 SDCCH and if (1 fixed PDCH) so remain TCH are 43
For 4 TRX it means you have 1 BCCH+2SDCCH and if( 1 fixed PDCH) so remain TCH are 28 the same for sector-3

and on Abis you need 1 OML and 14 RSL so total 16 kbps(Abis Idle TS)=43+2*28+14+1= 104 Idle TS so extra idle for GPRS is 248-104=144 idle with this configuration it means you can have on cell( 1 fixed PDCH and 11 dymaic PDCH) for provide MCS 9.

There is no need to set up so many SDCCH timeslots. At least for R11 a timeslot can be automatically converted to SDCCH in case it is needed.

I recommend to setup PDCH only on last TRXes and leave the first TRX without PS service.
Also you can setup timeslot priority and TRX priority for this.
