Default Cell Reselection to WCDMA neighbors audit (2G-3G)

    Dear All,

Our network is growing rapidly, many new 3G site (02 carrier), 2G sites(Dual Band, 900 & 1800 Band seperate BCCH). There is a need of cell reselection(2G-3G) audit, can anybody guide how we can do this activity in short time with out missing important relations. Please note there are many standalone sites i.e. only 2G or only 3G.

There will be many deletions and additions, do someone have any macro or any related suggestion. I will really appreciate if i get reply early.

Check the manual use of vendor's tools or mapinfo Plugins, automatically checks are not accurate.

You have to do with planning tool or may you can do with excel sheet and find the distance between two neighbors. Its easy way...

Vendor is e*******, Can you please name which exactly mapinfo tool can be helpful here. We need to start this audit at priority.

Distance formula is a very good option but how we can manage direction b/c cell can be at just 500 meters but its direction towards serving cell is very important.

One very important note here that in 2G Alex it is clear that it is possible to measure WCDMA neighbors in 2G NCS (neighbor cell support). But it require two optional features

    1) GSM-WCDMA Neighbouring Cell Support (NCS-GW)
    2) BSS feature GSM-WCDMA Active BA-list Recording

I have a question here that in our n/w 2G-3G handover is not activated. Still above metioned NCS will support us in finding WCDMA neigbors. Please confirm if any one has tried it.

    Hi friend,

Yes i tried , You actually talkng about GWNCS. It is working even the time 2G-3G HO is disabled(By setting of QSC in E/// system) but in reality you should not expect the perfect result same as WNCS

Can you please share the output file? Secondly i just need to activate below features along with QSC. Please confirm

    1) GSM-WCDMA Neighbouring Cell Support (NCS-GW)
