Question Paging Coordination without using Gs Interface

please any one has activated this feature to share his experience
Paging coordination give the mobile the ability to receive CS paging messages while the it's in packet transfer mode via PACCH channel
is it possible to activate without enabling Gs interface between MSC and SGSN?

Hi, yes we are using this feature. There is not much to it really. The functionality purely resides on the BSC so there is no need for the Gs interface. All the BSC does is keep track of which IMSIs are in a GPRS data session and if a paging message is received from the MSC with that IMSI, it maps the paging message on the PACCH. It is obviously very good, as it minimises missed paging while UEs are in an active GPRS session.

Ah, you need some "optional features" both on PS and CS core.
Nothing to do really: just activate licenses.

Main benefit: smartphone users on BSS can receive calls while they are PS connected (mostly not even being
aware of it). No statistically significant change in paging stats: only noticeable decrease is with
    "missed call notification SMSes"

    Simple summary: works.
We had zero problems with activating, we never heard any complain.
BTW, for full DTM you just turn it on per cell and enjoy stats. No stats for paging coordination.

Yes, you can activate with additional features depends of your network vendor...
    What is your vendor?

    hi

    I found a theme:
    http://www.finetopix.com/showthread....927#post139927
but I do not know how to test ((

    E / / / says that the essential features
    • FAJ 121 611/1 Dual Transfer Mode (BSS)
    • FAJ 121 493/1 Dual Transfer Mode for GSM (MSC)
    • FAJ 121 565/1 Dual Transfer Mode (SGSN)
it will only work with FAJ 121 611/1 Dual Transfer Mode (BSS)?
    Please share your experiences
    thanks
