Transcoder Devices

During Peak Time in my E******* BSC R07B, the transcoder devices (RRTPP:TRAPOOL=ALL) are almost reaching the threshold.
Can anyone guide what factors effecting the congestion and the steps to modify it.

Do you have any printout ??
Is possible that you need to modify the distribution for the transcoder device (%) in the BSC according with the Cell chennels.

I have modified some of the devices from FR to HR.

Is there any certain criteria to follow for the distribution of devices?

Just follow the traffic behavior.
Change codec to which codec used very high. eg: FR -> HR.
And watch carrefully the amount of tra device which installed.

Dear,

As mentioned, Self Configuring Transcoder Pools (SCTP) is very useful feature for automatic re-configuration of your transcoder pool devices according to your traffic and the SCTP parameters that you will set for this feature(i.e, after activation, some parameters you need to set their values carefully, TTRAEX, TTRAREQ, and MINPOOLSIZE, for each pool using RRPSC command) .

You need to activate SCTP feature in your TRC, also FMX feature in the OSS.

my BSC/TRC does not support self config of transcoder pool devices. Any other way to increase it.
