Default Good RxQual and RxLevel but user experience is bad

    Hi all huawei expert,

i have a customer complain about voice quality in 2G. i try to call him, and i found the same problem.

while calling i monitored RxLev and RxQual via M2000. i find there is no degradation of RxLev and RxQual. but the voice is turn bad and sometime disappears.

    thanks

I don't do GSM but try this troubleshooting case (on bad voice quality). It may help. From your explanation it seems like a voice discontinuity problem.

But I'm sure you'll get plenty of help here in GSM.

If RxLev and RxQual is ok, you need check channel type, and amr code is used because maximun SQI (Speech Quality Index) is different
    HR (Half Rate): –20 ... 17 dBQ
    FR (Full Rate): –19 ... 22 dBQ
EFR (Enhanced Full Rate): –20 ... 30 dBQ
AMR: Dependent on codec mode. The maximum SQI values are as follows:
    12.2 kbit/s: 30 dBQ
    10.2 kbit/s: 28 dBQ
    7.95 kbit/s: 28 dBQ
    7.40 kbit/s: 27 dBQ
    6.70 kbit/s: 27 dBQ
    5.90 kbit/s: 24 dBQ
    5.15 kbit/s: 21 dBQ
    4.75 kbit/s: 19 dBQ
So you need check on BSC, the parameter Speech Version, and all parameter in GCELLCCAMR command.
If only one customer have problem may be problem in customer's MS.

Can be a case of Multiservers where multiple cells are serving with very good level causing high noise floor and multiple handovers resulting in poor perception for customer.
