    Default PDSCH COde Licensing Huawei

    Hi All,

Does anyone understand about PDSCH Code Licensing in Huawei 3G ?
This is my opinion, let say we have 1 Node B has 15 Code PDSCH license, Node B has 3 sectors.
The license will be max code can handled by those node B will be 15 code, so it can be each sector 5 codes, or 10 codes 5 codes and 0 code as long as total codes is 15, some thing like a pool.
Then if we have 2 carriers, the same concept will be applied.

    Is this correct ?

    Hi gprastomo,

NodeB license in Huawei is distributed by M2000, so the capacity or quantity of one feature/function will be belong to operator. Some NodeBs can be set 15, some others can be set 10.

And PDSCH codes is used likes pool. It's right.

    Hi gprastomo,
There are two main points in your sentence

    1. Your opinion is correct when ALLOCCODEMODE is set to Automatic.
    2. Yes , the second frequency is also worked as the first one , it means the license will be shared for all sectors as your opinion above.

If you have any other concerns please feel free to discuss.

    Best Regards,
    Veasna

    Hi Thanks for prompt response.
I didnt mean the RNC Allocation.
In Huawei Node b, we have PDSCH Code License that we can set to 15 or 20 or 30 or 40 etc. This will be work under node b (1 node B can be 3 sectors, 2 or etc , and can be 2 or 3 carriers) but the PDSCH license Code will be limited by license.
As my previouse example was 15. Let say we have 20 Code PDSCH license Pool in 1 node B (having 3 sectors and 1 carrier) so the total PDSCH Code for all sector under this node b cant exceed the PDSCH license, there is possibility for each sector will have this PDSCH condition = 10 code for sector 1, 5 code for sector 2 and 5 for other (total 20 code). But It cant have 15 code for each sector.

    Is this right ?

    Hi,

According to RNC configuration, PDSCH code for HSDPA cannot exceed 15 codes in one cell (not limited to sector), so your example is correct

    You can check as below:

    Manual:
If Manual is chosen, parameter Code Number for HS-PDSCH determines HS-PDSCH code number to be allocated. If Automatic is chosen, allocate HS-PDSCH code number between configured Code Max Number for HS-PDSCH and Code Min Number for HS-PDSCH . For detailed information of this parameter, refer to 3GPP TS 25.308.

    Automatic:
The parameter determines the maximum number of HS-PDSCH codes (SF=16). This parameter is valid only when Allocate Code Mode is set to "Automatic". The number of codes used by the HS-PDSCH is dynamically set between Code Min Number for HS-PDSCH and Code Max Number for HS-PDSCH, based on whether the code tree is idle or busy. When the code resource used by the non-HSPA services is little, the HS-PDSCH uses the rest idle codes as much as possible, and the maximum number of idle codes (SF=16 continuous codes) is equal to the value of Code Max Number for HS-PDSCH.

    Thanks my friend,
Actually i didnt ask about Code Allocation in RNC. I asked about how the node b PDSCH license work.
If i want 15 code for all 3 sectors simultaneously, so i should have 45 PDSCH Code LIcense. SO the Node B should have 45 PDSCH Code LIcense.
If I want 15 code for all 3 sectors simultaneously, but i only have 20 code PDSCH in Node B license, 15 code for all sector will just partially work, i cant get 15 code for all sector simultaneously because we have only 20 code license in node b.

Of course in RNC allocation we need to set acordingly.

Do you get my idea about node b PDSCH license ?

    gprastomo,

yes you are right in your both opinion.

for code PDSCH, it depends on the feature you have bought. has it support code per cell or only code share per node b ?

Actually this is big problem because Huawei don't provide the way you may evaluate these License codes utilization, you have only alarms and no counteres,KPIs and so on. In order to preserve yourself use what you said, your conception is acceptable and common use practise.
