Re: which parameter help you improve KPI
what is the issue that you are facing, means which indicator is degrading the KPI network :
CSSR : HW problem, blocking, interference
CDR : interference, HW problem, but if you want to enhance this KPI you should increase you radio link timeout but it should impact the voice quality.

Hi,
Reduce RACH Timing Advance Filter is another option, thus you can reduce the coverage of the cell--> reduce SD drop and CSSR increase a lot

Re: which parameter help you improve KPI
Hello,
To improve the CSSR, you have to know the reason why it's low!
1- If it's due to TCH congestion, you have to increase the TCH HW Capacity, or activate HR (HR_ENABLE=TRUE) and set the number of DR TRX per cell.
2- If it's due SD Drop problem, check whether the problem is RF or BSS (Internal or Remote TC), if it's BSS the O&M departement car support you otherwise check RF issues (Overshooting, Bad frequency carrying the SDCs or HW TRX problem, Check if HO SDCCH is enabled in Cells in BSCs boarder)
3- If it's general RF problem:
- check the overshooting using the RMS counters or deteced during drive Test, if yes, mechanical/Electrical DT is recommended (you can use some parameters which are not the recommended solutions like: RXLEVACCESSMIN, RACH_TA_FILTER, RACH_BUSY_THRESHOLD or reduce BS_TXPWR_MAX)
- Check TRX HW performance using the indicator TRX_Call_Effeciency, if it's very low, we can suspect that the TRX HW is impacted.
- Check your frequency plan, if there is interference change the bad frequency.
Good luck

Dear friend, could you please share more information about:
RACH Timing Advance Filter
meaning, recommended value, etc
Thanks a lot

Re: which parameter help you improve KPI
Hi Justdream,
When you have some cells which face to a very open area or overshoot, mobile from a very far distance access this cell. At that time, you face to high sdcch drop. So we have RACH Timing Advance filter to filter the distance from which mobile can choose the cell. The value is from 0 to 64 TA (1TA~0.55m). Normally, the value is set maximum (about 32km).
Of course you can rarely get this distance. So for these cells in the above situation, you can reduce TA filter so that mobile from very far distance cannot access the cell. (In case you sure that this mobile can be served by the other cells, if not, user cannot not make call but statistics show no affect. Of course we don't want this. But sometime when the operator want beautiful statistics, we can do it for several cases).
Beside RACH TA filter, you can reduce the distance of Distance HO (equal to the value of TA filter so that if mobile is too far from serving cell, it will trigger Distance HO also everything is OK).

RACH Timing Advance Filter will improve the KPIs but in the other hand will impact (decrease) the traffic "Telecom industry's treasure ".
So the retune of this parameters in most of telecom companies is somewhat prohibited.
