High Call Block Rate in UMTS cell

Hi,
We are facing increased Call blocking rate in some umts cells. Upon checking I found that the counter "Number of Failed PS RAB Establishments for Cell (Unavailable UL CE Resources)" for problematic cells increased very much during Busy hour (~8pm) which lead to the rise in call blocking rate.
Anyone please suggest what can cause this problem and how can this be solved.

increased your CE license but your limit will be on the installed WBBPx, if you have 1 WBBPa you can max it to 128 CE license and if you have 1 WBBPb your max license is 384.

he meant that you must expand your CE license in the NodeB in order to cope with the issue. However you can not to do this forever since there is hardware limitation based on used base-band unit in your NodeB. Find out what type is your base band unit and there is description (Hedex library) for each type what capability they have i.e how many CEs supported, number of cells and etc. so to know your upper limit.

check the loaded CE license in that site through your m2000

software>license management>NE license management then click your site.

License is 192 for UL and 192 for DL.

Since you have UL issue probably you have lot of HSUPA traffic and bigger consumption. If you search the forum, there were few posts about similar cases and how to manage it.
