    Default Visitor PLMN selection

    Hi all,

I want to know how UEs select PLMN when the user move to another country?

Imagine the operator in country x has agreement with all the operators in country y.

    - Which Operator UE will select ? and how ?

    - UE will select 2G or 3G network ?

    Thx in advance

in case the original operator has an agreement with all the operator in the visited country then the mobile will select the operator with the strongest level
that why its important to keep the cells in the airport with maximum power in order to catch the new roamers
if the mobile already selected an operator then its hard to go to another operator unless the mobile went out of coverage or the user did it manually

bro, the network should select to 3G if your phone is in dual mode... the highest priority in terms of PLMN is 3G then 2G. That is the rule when configuring 3G to 2G neighbors. So it should camp on 3G then if the 3G signal threshold is below the target threshold, then it will reselect on 2G. I hope this one helps... please add reputation thank you.
