Diferencia entre SIM y la USIM
La diferencia esta básicamente en la seguridad. La USIM soporta algoritmos de seguridad más avanzados y seguros.
La USIM tiene las siguientes funciones adicionales a las soportadas por la SIM:
- USIM permite autenticación mutua clave ( long term preshared secret key)
- Aplicaciones de valor agregado que se pueden ofrecer (tecnologías de OMA como el SCWS, aplicaciones de seguimiento y petrológicas, futuro de banca Móvil con NFC-near fiel communications),
- Continuidad en el servicio (roaming continuo, compatibilidad de handsets).
