For adding CEs there's is two ways:
    - Licences activation if all the CEs are not enabled.
    - Add hardware

it is the short card action, some complaint still there because of you shrink of coverage handling, my opinion is for power congestion using PA Upgrade (from 20 to 40W), but if CE congestion you must upgrade the CE capacity or disable of PS 384 and reduce user of HSDPA.

Depending on where exactly you have congestion...CE can be upgraded by additional licenses if there is room for it or cards.

Question Re: how to increase node b capacity?

activate the license ??? you mean that there is CEs that are not used and when I activate the license i actually permit the use of more CEs!
why not activate all CEs and make it enabled from the beginning ?

its very vendor specific. like for NSN, the CE is added to cater for the needs of 2nd carrier, and this comes with class of service as well.

You should take into account the total number of CEs allowed by your RNC license. So as somebody said before, you have two basic limitations: hardware capacity (number and types of WBBP boards) and license capacity (total number of CE distributed along all the elements under this RNC).

Let me look for a table as I can show you the CE (UL and DL) per WBBP board type.

    Best regards

Why do you need it? Do you have a problem with number of CE's? If yes, at first - you need to check hadrware and license.
Second - if you can not increase hardware/license, you have to decrease number of users (Tilt) or services (disable HSUPA for ex.).

    Hi again,

here you have the details I promised before!

WBBPa: 3 cells, 128 UL CE, 256 DL CE
    WBBPb1: 3 cells, 64 UL CE, 64 DL CE
    WBBPb2: 3 cells, 128 UL CE, 128 DL CE
    WBBPb3: 6 cells, 256 UL CE, 256 DL CE
    WBBPb4: 6 cells , 384 UL CE, 384 DL CE
    WBBPd1: 6 cells, 192 UL CE, 192 DL CE
    WBBPd2: 6 cells, 384 UL CE, 384 DL CE
    WBBPd3: 6 cells, 256 UL CE, 256 DL CE

You can configure up to 4 WBBP boards (slots 0, 1, 2 and 3) in BBU3900 equipment.

To check quickly how many CE supports a NodeB and avoid any calculation and previous board identification, you can use the MML Command DSP BBPTC.

Of course you must check license limitations also.

I hope it will help you,
    Best regards
