    Default Received Signal Strength (RxLev)

Let’s describe Received Signal Strength (RxLev) according to 0-63 values. Measurement unit of RxLev is “dbm”.

    RxLev Table.PNG

To calculate received signal level in dbm value due to RxLev (n) use following formula:

    RxLev (dbm) = RxLev (n) – 110

You can see RxLev (n) in Layer 3 of TEMS’s (measurement report), so it means MS measures signal levels and then converts the results to RxLev (dbm) values.

Difference between RxLev Sub & RxLev Full is DTX is enabled or not:

RxLev Sub: DTX is enabled, it occurs when no voice transmitted in this direction where DTX is activated.

RxLev Full: DTX is not enabled.
So if DTX is activated, but not used during conversation we should look at RxLev Full. Otherwise DTX is activated and is used we should look at RxLev Sub.
