    Hi forumer,

    I want to know the tool to calculate Capacity in WCDMA? or do we need to do it manually?

    I think it is more the statistics and your expirinece than any calculation.
    You can calculate it based on channel elments blocking, radio interface interference limit but it all takes into account same load in each cell which is not true for a single RNC zone or wider area. If you calculate it in that way, rule of a tumb, assume 20% of that number in in the area of interest.
    Regarding the tool, any vendor has its' own recommendation...

    to be very simple as you know there is total 128 SF-128 ovsf channel.

    For R99

    + now consider 2 sf-128 ( used for PCCSCH/CPICH etc..) used for overhead channel

    + Remaining is 126 SF 128 ovsf code.

    + the SHO factor can be from 1.4 to 1.8 for a call. which can give you a max for pur voice 68-70 calls,provided Bts has enough power in DL & noise floor is under control

    For HSDPA....you will be using SF-16 codes which will reduce the R99 calls due to parent -child property of ovsf.
