Hi,

Better not to have passwords. In case some files do need a password, it is better to rely on the PM way. So u can release the same to only required people.
Passwords for documents, installers is un-necessary.
For meds we can use the PM way.

the best way is to have no password at all..people keep on blackmailing in the name of passwords...knowledge should always be free..let's ban user one day and decrease 10 credits if he/she posts password protected file...

Most of the file attachment are confidential and need to be protected. I love the idea of PM to get password.
I think the person that download the attachment will PM if he think he is very much interested in the file.
But i don't buy the idea of forcing guy to give reputation before pass is send to them.

This is my little opinion.

password protected files are not good deal specially when there is credit take already there & it could be a old file ??

That´s the reason for password protection and the credit system, if you think something is interesting you have to contribute to the Forum with Ideas, Docs and soon in order to get enough credits for the information that you want. If the file is an Old anyway you need that information.

Since we have closed this poll, and more than 56% choice agree to put password in signature, and many compliants about request thanks/rep before giving password.
so here is the new rules about passwords protected materials.
1. put password in your signature or in this thread: http://www.finetopix.com/showthread.php?t=7611

2.put clear descriptions for your docs/softwares/attachments

3. threads/posts do not obey the above rules will be deleted without warning and please do not reply on those threads.
