Hi,
Coverage depends on frequency as you know...if antenna height/gain, losses till antenna are same...
So, what exactly we are comparing? 1800 LTE with 5G 3.5 GHz?
for example if you compare 900 Mhz LTE with 2100 Mhz LTE , you will see 900 coverage is almost 70% larger.
The same thing will apply to 5G as well...higher the frequency shorter the coverage...so if we compare 1800 MHz LTE to 3.5 GHz 5G, the coverage will be almost halved!
Free Space path loss in general is; Lb= 32.44 + 20log(fc)+20log(d) it works for all carrier frequencies and distances.But you have to keep in mind that this is for ideal free space loss and things changes a lot when there are obstructions.
There are more optimized models such as Okumura-hata/cost231/walfish/SUI/ITU etc, as you are aware...and you need to choose as per the frequency you are using,
