WiFi 2.4 / 5 GHz backhaul design question

Hi All,

I am looking for some inputs on the tradeoffs in WiFi mesh design using a 40MHz channel on the 5GHz band to backhaul 2.4 GHz wireless clients (40MHz channel) and vice versa. .... using 2.4 GHz band to backhaul 5GHz clients.

Obviously the propagation characteristics are significantly different between the two bands and site specific details on backhaul distances will play a factor. However, at a high level, I would be interested in discussing the technical advantages and disadvantages.
