Hi All,
How to improve HOSR. One of our BSC In Nokia System Having only HOSR-13% on BBH. & 83 % on NBH. Not found any Discrepancy like zeat,060,61 & 061. I have tuned manually Ho Definition as per requirement & set all default Parameter even as checked MSC External Lacs definition too.,If any suggestion please let me Know how to improve it.

Please perform following procedure:

1.Get BSC dump, and identify cells with high HO Failure rates. Look for report No. 150 and 157.

2.Get report No. 67 <HO Synchronization>, check if all cells of same BTS are in Sync.

3.Also look for Report No 182, will give you idea about cell loading.

4.Very important: check if HO among the cells are defined as Bi-Directional. If not then either define them both ways or remove unwanted neighbors. This info you can get from Report No232 or 206

5.After this do perform drive test in problematic areas , check for antenna orientation , tilt etc are as per planning.

Let me know if you need more info on this.

If you like my solution please add repo ….. :)

well rayan thanks a lot for ur suggestion.....probleun resolved. One more question.

whats d diff. in RF fail n drop call.????????????

Well RF fail could be anything ..generally is is related to Hardware....BTS , some other components in BSC ...etc ...Yes RF fail could result in Call Drop. <PS or CS>.
Example : Frequency shift due to issue with BTS oscillator which could result in un-sync between the oscillators of both handset and BTS.

Call Drop is again a huge topic within itself , this could happen due to n number of reasons generally due to poor RF conditions, interference due to overshooting by other cells. etc.

Can you tell me other things to do.I have set all the timer values (T8-12s,T10-12 s,T3107-9.99,T3109- 15s). & one observation i have seen in it in hourly kpi , as traffic rise in these cell it's HOSR degraded. not any cell having TCH Blocknig at bbh in these bsc.. What should be check more.

pLZ genious provide me solution.

Hi RAJMEENA,

As u said Calls or Traffic increased, is it congested? HOSR on incoming will possibly decrease if highly utilized and congested.
But if outgoing handover, there are many possibilities that could contribute for Poor HOSR.Too many to mention also.

Check the Incoming HOSR on cell level and get the worst cells then invitigate
