as mentioned in last thread, I put some docs about signaling in GSM. these docs are one of the best references I have read before.
Very comprehensive, easy to read and digest, useful for work for both Core Network engineers and RF engineers:

1. BSSAP (DTAP and BSSMAP) and MAP Signalling for Call Origination
2. BSSAP (DTAP and BSSMAP) and MAP Signalling for Call Termination
3. BSSAP (DTAP and BSSMAP) and MAP Signalling for Handover
4. BSSAP (DTAP and BSSMAP) and MAP Signalling for Location Updating
5. BSSAP (DTAP and BSSMAP) and MAP Signalling for SMS
