I use windows 7 ( it looks like non-Microsoft software :D - fast and stable). TEMS Investigaton, Actix , Mapinfo and Atoll works just perfect.

Do I need Windows XP Mode?

Actually no. Everything works fluently. I use it few mounts ago on my PC. Also my colleagues have Win7 on they notebooks.Win7 non-recognize by himself only my webcam driver and printer - but his vista drivers works well for me.
If you face problems with drivers try Driver Genius (http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5182897/Driver_Genius_Pro_v9.0.0.178) - it is suitable for all windows versions.
Also there is enough useful information here http://www.sevenforums.com/

I'm Linux fan, but Windows 7 is impress me. Only price is very high :mad: but ;) .....

Can you tell me how did you manage to run Actix on win 7. I'm trying to install the virtual USB but unsuccessfully. Am I doing something wrong or the problem is that I'am using 64bit OS ?

It's no possibility - there is no 64bit sentinel ********. Check your PM for details.

win7 can work same like xp,
just use winxp compability mode,
