Hi all,

Very generic question - I am only looking for a yes/no answer.

With AISG 2/3 around, are crossed feeders still an issue/possibility?

I have an Amphenol 42 port antenna with me, it truly is a beast of a thing, and I recall the fun I had back in the day ensuring 4 or 6 port antennas were swap-free. Now we have colour coding and antenna serialisation so at least the controller knows what anenana is what, and theoritically you should be able to spot swaps from the OSS, but does this happen in practice?

Thanks,

Julian

In short: Yes, crossed feeders/jumpers are still possible.

Thats what I thought. Thx.

Just FYI - there is a proposal going through the O-RAN Alliance now that, if implemented properly, would make this a thing of the past. It's difficult to do, and we certainly wouldn't want to waste our time on it if it was a solved problem, but it appears that with MiMo and the big multiband antennas this could become more of a problem than ever. It's quite important that this can be solved.

Massive MiMo (not normal MiMo) we dont think is an issue. Could be wrong there.
