DL 4x4 MIMO without overlapping coverage from each port

In worst case scenario, if we configure RRU as DL 4x4 MIMO then we connect each RRU port to SISO-DAS. Each antenna port is serving in the different coverage area (few overlapping area). In this case, whether DL 4x4 MIMO can function as SISO or totally cell can't function at all? Is there any reason why cell can't function at all?

This can work. In zones with overlap, you will get Mimo. Check if you can configure your Ports as separate Cells (Splitmode), it's more resonable. However single thing may be alarms, like RX imbalance if you don't.

As i know from Huawei, in such case cell will be shut down automatically.
