Hi All

Could you please share your experience of using crowdsourcing data such as ookla speedtest, umlaut for optimization and planning activities?
Many thanks!

This okla test is in general user experience. Umlaut specializes on planning and optimization

is there any guide document?

is there any guide document?

there is built in utility in infovista planet that takes crowd data help planning. to complement that we used Tutela big data utilities to know more about traffic patteren.

I will try find the Document and attach to post.

Hi Dear,
could you please share more info regarding Tutela utilities and how it works

Well so far still crowdsource data not have full pictures of need to do full Plan and optimization due to their dependency on users allow the tool measure and after new google location policy thinks become chanllenge to 3rd party crowdsource , based on what saw from multiple crowdsource tool such as Ookla,Opensignal,Tutela,Speedchecker,,,,, the major test which run on background are for purpose of coverage and quality then less samples to speed, latency and other KPIs .

Hi Firend,
do you have more data about this point,
like do you have samples count study or any document explain this finding

We use a signal recording application and drive test regions of concern. In ATOLL you can tune the propagation model with drive test data.

You can probably take a similar approach with crowdsourced signal data, regardless of the source.

Major issue is no-repeatability of data as you would like granularity of one and data that would provide you same situation (same cell, same traffic volume and classes) so you could compare time instances and do the optimization. It is more, in my case, to get users heat map and less doing optimization on these data. You could find more data in a core network that could be used to build virtual drive test data and to use it for optimization.

But I think we have more information about Ookla available.

Hi,

It is totally different in crowdsource
