Hi everyone,

So I'm a new user on this forum and I've had the great opportunity to buy a ******** MTP700. Noticed that some of you know a lot about these radios and programming them. I've managed to get the CPS and I even have the Lab-version, however... When I fire up the CPS, I can read and program the radio. I can do everything, except activate Lab-mode to stretch their DMO frequency range into the bands I'm allowed to be on.

The MTP700 has the R03.000.3357 firmware and the CPS says it's MR3.1.6 R7B.398.01, but I'm not sure about that. It didn't come with a setup wizard either, just a folder with the CPS' files and when I launch it, I've got only three usernames (User, Administrator, and Factory). Do any of you know what I'm doing wrong? Is there some kind of weird key combination I have to press, or is the software/firmware too old?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer me.

Hi,

You are not doing wrong, you just don't have real Depot version, only a 'modified' CPS with only a few features available.

Try this:
MR3.1.6 R7A.398.01_lab
Download link

Later try upgarde your MTP-700 to R03.000.3375 firmware.

I think thre are several user levels:
Agent, Organiszer, Carrier, Administrator, Depot, Lab, Factory

Good afternoon (well, it's afternoon here at least),

Thanks for your replies! Glad to know that it's not my mistake. 580-Gabor, thank you! But when I click the link, I end up in a folder with APCO25 programming software. Is the MTP700 CPS in there?

Dear AWeijs,

the link is now corrected.

Thanks, I really appreciate your help! Unfortunately, I've got the same problem with this software... Only User, Administrator and Factory are available and I can't get the Lab-toolbar to show. Or am I doing something wrong here? By the way, the R03.000.3375 firmware you were talking about earlier: any idea where I can find that? I've been looking all over the internet the entire afternoon but I can't seem to find it.

I'm really sorry you couldn't use the software properly.

I've found the missing firmware for you:
R03.000.3375 MTP700 MR3.6.1E

Thank you so much! Now it's just a matter of finding the right CPS or codeplug and I can finally use the MTP700. If anyone happens to know where I can find the real MR3.1.6 R7B.398.01 or what I can do to stretch the frequency range of the MTP700, please let me know!

You should post your CP here, so any fellow members could help.

That's a great idea! I can't attach ("Invalid file") the original codeplug that I've read from the radio, so I've put it here: https://mega.nz/file/JCgHzIiA#Co9DkDZS0VGJn0KdWkCnZadZEQqCrapG3en6wryu4XI.

Here is your new codleplug:
now you have 13DMO talkgroups from 380.000MHz to 440.000MHz in 5MHz steps.
You can do that too with my shared software (see post #3), log in with factory level and you got 380-440MHz DMO range.
