What Is AAGC used on the AAU side?

The AAGC algorithm is used on the AAU side to prevent the uplink ADC component from being saturated. If the component is saturated, the uplink data cannot be decoded and the component may be burnt out.

The AAGC function is enabled to reduce the power before the ADC and then increase the power at the 1x point of the interface logic. That is, the power is decreased and then increased. In this way, the ADC input power can be reduced to prevent component saturation without affecting the upstream service power. Power reduction is implemented by adding attenuation in the analog domain. Power increase is implemented by adding the previously decreased gain in the digital domain. Power increase takes effect on all uplink timeslots. In this way, the air interface noise and useful signals are reduced together when they are attenuated. The noise is low and the reduction effect is not obvious. However, when the gain is increased in the digital domain, the noise and useful signals are increased together.
