Dear LTE Expert,

I hope you can help me, I have a question about "LTE Radio Resource Connection (RRC)".

Huawei has a license for "RRC Connected User", My questions are:
- Is there a MAX value for number of RRC connections in an LTE cell with 10MHz bandwidth?
- What is the normal number of RRC in a cell?

that depends of the LBBP specification and license specification, usually the maximum value can reach 3600 RRC connected users

In Huawei, at 10MHz it is "only" 1800 RRC connected users, but by the time you reach this number, the service is long unusable. This is more like a theoretical limit of the BBU plus the signalling resource it takes to schedule the UEs.

The normal number of RRC connected user number depends on a lot of things:

1. UE inactivity timer
2. Typical usecase, how often the UE needs to wake up and go to RRC connected mode
3. How many UE do you have under the same cell typically
4. Expected mobility

And of course, the RRC connected user number is license controlled on Huawei, so you need to check your license as well.

Thanks for your response,

Does RRC mean :
- number of UE's to be covered by a cell
- Or number of UE's in connected stated (Active user downloading traffic).

For example, if RRC license is 500, this mean only 500 UE can be active at the same time. (or not)

This one: number of UE's in connected stated (Active user downloading traffic)

As other vendor E// , if Connected User more than License its will be generate alarm for warning, but Active user not impacted that called grace period.
Of coz as long H/W capacity still allowed.
Instead of RRC Connected user also have PUCCH user SR/CQI that not limited by license that if pass the parameter set will cause congestion.
for BB H/W believe this PUCCH will be reach on 1st step before RRC Connected user.

Levi

Dears,
could you please tell me on how to improve the accessebility on ERiccson network for a cell having too much downlink CE rejection.
the parameter to tune in order to minimize the rejection.
thank you in advance!!!

for two channel of 20MHz, three sector eNB, we have using 256, but with increasing number of users in dense area you will need more RRC connected user license or you can play with Ue inactive timer
