Wireless public networks (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, WiFi...) are often subject to congestion or muting, expecially under exceptional or particular events, causing a temporary block of the communications: this scenario is not permissible when managing emergencies.
In this possible context, all Emergency Assistance Forces must be equipped with a safe, reliable and all-time available communication channel.
The professional mobile radio systems are mainly used for safety purpose by various Public Agencies (Police, Health Rescue, Fire Brigade, Highway Companies, Forest Guards...). Such systems are based on interconnected radio repeaters (radio networks), able to cover the whole users' area. Networks allow communications between mobile terminals and the Operations Center, and between terminals themselves.
The ability to operate in audio conference (open channel) with a lot of users makes very effective the communication management in the emergencies.
