Can anyone tell me if with the KVL 4000 and a network enabled radio I can read and save the keys to program new radios?

Which cable should I use on the kvl 4000 on an MTP850s radio?

thanks

Hi,

No you can't read keys from radio with KVL.
You will need KVL3000+ or KVL4000 Dimetra 'compatible', not easy to find...
Is it AIE encryption or E2EE (SIM) ?

Here is an example for Loading Master Keys into Crypto Devices with KVL4000
Prerequisites:
There are Master Keys in the KVL.

Procedure Steps
1 Set up your AuC/PrC Crypto Device for loading a DVI-XL master key. For details, see the Authentication Centre (AuC) User Manual.
2 On the KVL main screen, select Crypto Device.
3 Connect the AuC or PrC crypto card KVL connector or CryptR unit red KVL port to the KVL key load port using an appropriate key load cable.
4 From the list of available Master Keys, select a DVI-XL key to be loaded into the Crypto Device.
Step result: The selected Master Key is loaded into the Crypto Device.
5 Perform one of the following actions:
• If your Crypto Device is an AuC/PrC CryptR, proceed to step 6.
• If your Crypto Device is an AuC/PrC crypto card, skip to step 9.
6 Set up your AuC/PrC CryptR unit for loading an AES128 master key. For details, see the Authentication Centre (AuC) User Manual.
7 From the list of available Master Keys, select an AES128 key to be loaded into the CryptR unit.
Step result: The selected Master Key is loaded into the CryptR unit.
8 Disconnect the KVL from the CryptR unit.
9 Connect another Crypto Device to load Master Keys to, or tap Done to return to the KVL main screen.
