The Altair Student Competition, focusing on Innovation in EM is an international contest organized annually by the Altair team in support of engineering education. The competition is open to all under-graduate and post-graduate students, anywhere in the world, who have used Altair Feko and/or Altair WinProp to solve a problem.
The Student Competition has been running for more than 16 years and attracts students interested in antennas, RCS, EMC, microwave devices, bio-electromagnetics and other EM related fields, giving them an opportunity to showcase their work using Feko software.
This year, for the first time students have the opportunity to use Altair WinProp, a software tool complementing Feko, focused on wireless propagation and radio network planning. It covers applications ranging from satellite to terrestrial, and from rural via urban to indoor radio links. Its wave propagation models combine accuracy and short computation time. Entries can either use Feko or WinProp, or both tools.
