Which message Ue use to display technology on screen like 4G,5GE etc
For example tmobile displayed hspa+ as 4G in customer devices
Likewise ATT displays 5GE for LTE A to catch more customers

What is the configuration from network side that needs to be done to display these

i think it's not from configuration of network, display depend on customised ROM in mobiphone.

Yes agreed the Icons are in the custom ROM....but which message from the BTS is used by the phone to identify the technology & display it on phone screen..like 3g ,4g,lte etc?

The MCC and MNC codes are used to identify the actual network and set the customization.

The MCC and MNC codes are on the broadcast channel, and the phone reads them before it starts the initial attach. There is no signalling needed for the phone to be able to read this information.
