[ASK] Tips to reduce Packet Loss in 2G-3G-4G Network

Dear Expert,


need your advice regarding Packet Loss issue in 2G, 3G, mostly in 4G Network,
what should be consider beside the availability, quality, and capacity of IP MW or Metro-E bandwidth,

what counter should be taken and analyzed regarding above issue except PL rate, RTT, Delay, Jitter
NB : i'm working for ZTE environment at a moment, NEC MW IP for access link, ZTE Router at Metro, Cisco at RAN Router

sounds like a buffer issue on your IP MW. Suggest to check the MW performance first to see if the modulation and bandwidth matches what has been planned for this link. Then study the current availability of this link, study Alarm Logs and Performance Data logs. If these match with what you would expect from this link try to study the QoS setup of the IP MW. Usually this is the cause for random packet loss. Try to nail down which QoS queue causes the packet loss (usually the IP MW has some queue counters)

Impacted on Transport Quality where TN Quality & Un-Availability, Iub Congestion and wrong QoS happen on the network , check also Signaling Packet Loss
You can have a look on TN couter where can define on Counter measurement, IuB drop ===> number of discharge, RACH, DCH/E-DCH and use algorithm to check.
you can also check IP perf with IP probe such as TWAP.
